How do I get a group discount?
We do offer discounts for groups as small as 3 attendees. Please email with the number of attendees you would like to register and we will send you your custom promo code. You will be able to register as a group or individually with the code.

There are use-case oriented sessions at QCon. What does that mean?
QCon is a practitioner-driven conference. Use-case oriented (or problem solution style) talks are where engineers from leading software shops discuss how they solved architecture or technology related problems. The vast majority of talks at QCon are use-case oriented sessions. These talks are focused on expert-level advice and go deep into technology.

What are the short sessions at
Many of the people coming to are learning and adopting the tools of AI/ML in their day jobs. In many cases, attendees maybe experts in one area of data science (or software) but not as familiar with other areas. Short sessions are designed to offer breadth to the attendees. Here short talks focus on one topic or technology and are designed to provide depth.

What are the codelabs?
We all know that to learn technology, you have to work with it. Codelabs are self-guided tutorials for a technology or practice. Codelabs will be posted to the site and allow anyone to be able to take the codelab (in some cases, the person running the lab may have access codes for cloud resources within the authentication area. What really makes codelabs different is that each code lab has speaker office hours. These office hours are an opportunity to ask questions about the lab, get help in a place you were stuck, or to ask about your own use cases. Codelabs at give you the opportunity to get your hands on with the tools of AI.

Are there any discounts for non-profit companies or students?
We do not offer any discount for non-profit companies or students at the moment.

Can I transfer my registration to another attendee?
If you can no longer attend QCon, you can transfer your registration to another person if you contact by March 23rd 2018 with the following details for the new participant: first name, last name, email, position, company and phone number. While the first ticket transfer is free of charge, we will charge a fee of $50 to all subsequent name transfers on the same ticket or that are requested after the deadline of Friday, March 23rd, 2018.

Can I share my badge with my colleagues?
No, badge sharing is not allowed at QCon.

Can I cancel my registration and get a refund?
We Do Not Offer Refunds. Once paid, registration fees for QCon are non-refundable. However, you can transfer your registration to another person. (See details above)

Are breakfast and lunch included?
A light continental breakfast is included as well as a buffet lunch with vegan /vegetarian /gluten-free /dairy-free options.

Can I get an invitation letter for a visa application or border control? 
Please email us the following information at Full name as on passport, company name and position. Note that we encourage you to apply for a visa before buying a conference ticket as we will not refund your registration fee if your visa application is turned down.

How do I select my workshops?
If you purchased a ticket including workshops, you will receive an email with your access code to login on the QCon website and pick your workshops online, about 6 weeks prior to the conference. You need to pick your workshops ASAP to secure your seat as workshops have limited availability and selections are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please check your spams if you can't find the email from
